After almost one year of recovery with diligent and determined rehab training, such a great deal of required patience, strength and confidende and with loving support from around the globe after her tragic accident at the beginning of this year she is back on the dance floor – welcome back Sam! Let's celebrate together the return of renowned dance artist, experienced instructor, creative source of inspiration, supportive dance companion and dear friend Samantha Emanuel (UK/FR)! ♥

On Saturday, 15th December 2018 she will be back with two great workshops for you - one for graduates of her Dance Synthesis Intensives© and one for everyone!

ABOUT SAMANTHA EMANUEL

True to the spirit of American Tribal Style®, Samantha’s work combines technique gleaned from her studies with the creators of the genre in the USA with that of her own self taught background in the UK. Elegant and classic, strong in carriage: Fusing Victorian and Tribal costume aesthetic, hip hop/modern dance movement strangeness, a respectful take on World Folk dances and professional versatility.

UK-born Samantha had a unique introduction to belly dance in 2005 after she quit her job on a building site to practise the art of belly dance at home. Two years later she was spotted by The Bellydance Superstars and toured the world as the troupe’s only British member, featuring on several BDSS DVDs. After four years with the show she decided to go solo and has been crisscrossing the globe full-time ever since, performing and instructing intensive workshops in over 40 countries. Working both solo and collaboratively with artists at the top of the genre. Her dedication to the art form and it’s power to connect people from all continents keep her on the move.

Samantha, AKA Vagabond Princess, is a committed instructor and performer, well known for her fun and engaging style and accessible approach to teaching. Her workshops are designed to inspire all dancers – from total beginners to dance instructors and aspiring professionals.

Samantha is American Tribal Style® Certified and the first Tribal Fusion instructor to receive the FatChanceBellyDance® ATS General Studio Teacher Certification. She is a qualified Level 3 Mat Pilates instructor VTCV City and Guilds. She has also explored Theatre performance skills at The London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA).

Dance Synthesis Intensives© Review + Taster Session | Sa, 15th December 2018 | 10:30-12:30

Perfect opportunity to regroup and shortly review the material covered in parts 1 and 2 of DSI in St Gallen! Bring your questions/requests and together we will review various concepts drills alongside practical application of movements. Where do we go from here? Building on the previous work and starting new we will explore more movement possibilities through task orientated training. Because its way more fun to practice with friends.

Connectivity through Human Movement | Sa, 15th December 2018 | 13:00-16:00

A creative exploration session.

*Our culture teaches us to focus on personal uniqueness but at a deeper level we barely exist as individual organisms.

*Our brains are built to help us function as members of a tribe.

We will begin by finding our axis using flow movement and HIIT as our preparation to move. Then we will work through theatre and task based exercises designed to explore expression and connection to each other. Individual and small group work will be used to create unique movement sequences that speak louder than words.

Yuletide Hafla | Sa, 15th December 2018 | from 19:00

The Yuletide Hafla is casual party at Studio Pittoreska for all participants, dancers, friends and family with a delicious apéro, music and dance to celebrate the end of another adventurous and moving year – performances of all levels and styles are very welcome, we will play and explore, we will dance with and for each other, without a line-up and without a stage. This is a relaxing evening for ourselves and our joy of dance!

How about accommodation and parking in St. Gallen?

The city center is very small and everything is in walking distance.

Hotels are quite expensive (as is parking) in Switzerland, though. It might be a better idea to check Airbnb options. Also, you are always welcome to post in our facebook events/groups to connect with other participants and find roommates. To help you get around in St. Gallen we created a map for you with places that we thought to be useful (also hotels if you want to check them out anyway). We do care that everyone has a nice and comfortable place to stay, feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

For parking there are several parking garages in the city center, however, they are very expensive. The outdoor parking spaces in the streets are cheaper but primarily short-term. You can obtain permits (daily or monthly) for unlimited parking in specific areas. You can find more information about that here.

Can I pay in Euro instead of Swiss Francs?

Yes, if you live outside of Switzerland you can also make your payment in Euro. For that, please use the prices in Euro that are stated for each ticket type on this site. You find the prices in Euro you click on 'Mehr Info +' below the individual ticket types.

You will receive the bank information for your payment in the confirmation email after registration.

Is there a payment plan available?

Payment plans are available for amounts from CHF 300.-.

What’s the refund policy?

All sales are final and not transferable to another course/workshop. While there are no refunds on registration, it is possible to transfer your spot to another dancer.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

If you are not able to attend you may sell your spot to another student. Selling or transferring your spot is your responsibility. To sell your spot, please first email info@pittoreska.com. If there is a waitlist, you will be connected with the first student on the waitlist to manage payment* for the spot together. If there is no waitlist, you may seek out other students to purchase your spot. Once the spot has been purchased, please send an email to info@pittoreska.com confirming that you have received the payment and are officially transferring your spot, cc:ing the new student.

*Note: Transfer payments are the responsibility of the student selling their spot.

Do I have to bring my printed confirmation of participation/payment to the event?

No, we will have all of your info with us on the first day of class.

Pittoreska Dance & Movement, Amanda Pittoreska, the guest teachers and their staff have the right to responsibly deny enrollment or participation to anyone at any time before or during the course.

This workshop is limited to 11 participants only to guarantee a comfortable class size and learning environment, so save your spot! If the event is sold-out we do open a waiting list. Please contact info@pittoreska.com to join. The waiting list is on a first come first serve base.
